HIV Landmark Victory
- 2008-07-28 12:13:35

A woman in Kenya has won a landmark court case against her employer because she was let go due to her HIV status. This is the first such case in Kenya and could be a turning point in the fight against this deadly disease. Many people suffer from HIV in Kenya but do not seek help because they are afraid of what people will think and how they'll be treated. Now that there is a legal precedent showing it is illegal to discriminate based on a person's HIV status perhaps the social stigma will decrease. As the church continues to deal with people from all backgrounds, and with various needs, it will help to work in a more compassionate society.
