A new pump purchased from Davis & Shirtlift will enable Life Spring to better gather well water for the purification process. Rev. Beatrice's son, Peter, helped to make the connection with the Mombasa based supplier last week. Soon a technician will be on site in Webuye to hook up the pump. This pump will be used to pull water from a well and take it to a holding tank. The water will then be purified using the New Life International water purifier purchased earlier. Clean water is a necessity when it comes to the health of the community. Diseases such as malaria can be greatly reduced by decontaminating drinking water. The New Life purifier also creates by-products that can be used to disinfect utensils and kill bacteria in the pit latrines.
