Famine Relief and a Homecoming - 2010-01-16 09:46:26
Some years ago Robert Nangoli was run out of his Ugandan mountain village on threat of death because, citing his Christian faith, he refused to take multiple wives. Finding himself and his wife, Topista, living on the streets of Mbale, he was taken in by a Christian brother and eventually became Pastor of Life Spring church in Mbale. Later in 2009, as Uganda suffered through famine, Life Spring sent much needed food aid to Pastor Robert to distribute among the villages, including his own village. The local chief greeted Robert and couldn't believe that foreigners would care enough to send help when it was most needed. The chief welcomed Robert & Topista, asked for their forgiveness, and committed his life to Jesus Christ on the spot. Pastor Robert is now using his family's land in the village to build a school for the village children. Support for this school is very much needed and apreciated. |
