On the first morning of the 2009 conferences in Webuye Bishop Alex and Paul were standing in the front yard of the Wafula's House when they heard agonized wailing from across the corn field. Alex said their neighbor's child had died the night before. The mother was a member of Life Spring church, but the husband wasn't a Christian. Alex explained that, in support, normally the community would go to town and buy the family a coffin. Paul offered to donate the money for the coffin. Life Spring sent a Pastor and some members to do that.  Upon learning of what the visitors had done, the husband was overcome with appreciation and stated that he would commit his life to "the way of Jesus". He is now a regular member of the church and is growing in his new life.
